CHRIS OWEN ~ FREELANCE CAMERA OPERATOR 

Chris is a highly creative, experienced, versatile and dependable camera operator who has worked on a wide range of projects and filming assignments for many different TV broadcasters and production companies. Below is a summary of the formats and cameras Chris has used extensively so far in his career.

FOOTBALL CAMERA OPERATOR

Chris has filmed over 100 games as a cameraman for BBC1's The Football League Show highlights programme on Saturday nights after Match Of The Day. Chris covers Shrewsbury Town's home games, but has also worked at Stoke, Everton, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Crewe and other grounds in the Football League, FA Cup, Carling Cup and Leagues 1 and 2. The footage is also used by the Football Association to review incidents, and by the clubs themselves for performance analysis and review. Games are shot on Digi-Beta and DV Cam.

LIVE CONCERT CAMERA OPERATOR

Chris worked as a camera operator as part of a multi-camera crew on the following live concert DVD releases, which were filmed on either HD Cam, Digi-Beta, DV Cam or HDV.

  • Mundy - Live And Confusion (filmed at Vicar Street, Dublin)
  • The Chuckle Brothers - Pirates Of The River Rother (filmed at The Winter Gardens, Blackpool)
  • The Chuckle Brothers - The Kingdom Of The Mythical Sulk (filmed at Civic Theatre, Darlington)
  • Jimmy Jones - The Guvnor's Last Stand (filmed at The Circus Tavern, Purfleet)
  • Sean Keane - The Irish Scattering (filmed at The Black Box, Galway)

Most concerts were filmed for retail DVD. Work also included filming band interviews, fan voxpops and venue exteriors. Several of these DVDs reached number 1 in music DVD charts around the world. Most of the above work was undertaken for Dash Productions, Manchester.

Other filmed acts include Rick Astley, The Alarm x 3, The Levellers, Unkle, Paul Daniels, Cannon & Ball, Roger Hodgson, The Cardiacs, The Krankies, Jimmy Cricket, Brotherhood Of Man, Mothership (Led Zepelln tribute) and The Anomalies.
